Justice Brief August Issue

This month at the National Justice Project, we officially released the tickets for our national online symposium on alternative first responder models. This conference is bringing together changemakers from around the world to rethink first response beyond policing.

We also released a position statement calling for urgent reforms to end the discriminatory removal of First Nations children and joined legal and community experts to oppose a Coalition bill that would put more kids behind bars. In the NT, we’re speaking out against moves to weaken coroners’ powers following the 2019 police shooting of a Walpiri man.
